One of Mayor’s Paul Ayotte jobs is to fix things; joining him to benefit the Canadian Tire Peterborough Jump Start Program is someone used to doing the exact opposite. Darryl Andrews, star of Discovery Channel’s hit television series; “Canada’s Worst Handyman” joins the Mayor for what will be an exciting afternoon of golf, prizes and a really great community program. In addition, Darryl’s fiancé Sara Graziano, who appeared on the show alongside Darryl and nominated Darryl to show producers, will also attend. Sara earned the dubious title of “Canada’s Omarosa” by fans of the show that delighted in watching her criticism of Darryl in every step of his “handyman rehabilitation”. Addressing that Darryl says, "Sara and I learned early in our relationship that I can’t do the handyman stuff and worse still was trying to do it together.”

The couple had lived in Toronto where both worked in the Motion Picture Industry, but recently moved to Peterborough. Darryl operated a specialty security company providing bodyguard services to such Hollywood heavyweights such as: Sylvester Stallone, Jamie Foxx & Samuel L. Jackson; while Sara was a Hairstylist and Assistant Director working with such Superstars as: Ms. Sophia Loren, Jackie Chan and Mira Sorvino. “Our experience working with these celebrities benefited us immensely when we suddenly found ourselves in the Media spotlight of the show. Remembering first-hand how those people handled themselves when it came to charity causes was very fortunate”.


Darryl and Sara have participated in many fundraising events the last year and were looking for the right opportunity to lend their support to a Peterborough supported program. Sara, who is presently working at Champagne’s Hair Studio & Associates, was told of the tournament and of the charity by a client. “When I told Darryl that it included the Mayor and was to benefit the Canadian Tire Jump Start Program we immediately agreed this was the event to introduce ourselves to the community.”

Sara and Darryl are very proud of the number of charities they’ve lent their support to the past year including Habitat for Humanity Canada, The Easter Seals Society & The Bridge Hospice of Warkworth Project. The couple has raised thousands of dollars by the pair’s good nature of making fun of themselves. “Sara’s always been charitable. Sara immediately took to task the idea that we had to get involved in important programs in our community and make a difference while we had the popularity of the show." Sara and I believe with The Canadian Tire Jump Start Program mission: that strong communities include strong kids. We believe that all children should have the chance to run, skate, play, and grow.”

The Canadian Tire Jump Start is a community-based charitable program that helps kids in financial need participate in organized sports and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming. The Program is national in scope but local in focus. Canadian Tire Jump Start delivers support to children through a Canadian-wide network of local chapters, made up of a variety of community leaders committed to helping kids get active, such as Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCA, and Parks and Recreation.
